Photoshop Compositing (ZBrush Movies and Photoshop Composites) (ZBrush Character Creation) Part 5

Neville Page: Creature Designer

Here we see a series of expression studies for a character design    by concept artist    Neville    Page.

Neville’s work is consistently both stunning and inspiring.

In addition to being one of the leading concept artists in the film    industry, Neville is a toy/film/ automotive designer as well as an accomplished educator.

Nevile’s work has been seen in James Cameron’s Avatar, JJ Abram’s Cloverfield, Zach Snyder’s The Watchmen, Louis Leterrier’s The Incredible Hulk, and JJ Abram’s Star Trek 11, as well as in Universal Studios’ Men in Black ride, and the feature films Minority Report, Planet of the Apes, X-Men 2 and 3, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, and Superman.

One of the things that lets Neville do such consistently strong work is his core understanding of drawing, sculpting, perspective, light, shadow, and composition. Coming from such a well-developed artistic background, Neville is bringing all that experience to the program to create such exciting imagery.

Neville is a great example of how if you understand the core principals of good art and design you can make compelling images no matter what medium you happen to be using. It is all about mastering the core lessons. Neville has a full range of educational DVDs, which I highly recommend! These are available from www.thegromorworkshop.com, and I use some of his techniques when I paint the eyes in this very topic.
