In-Depth Information
Lucania Palazzo Hotel HOTEL $$$
$$$
( 449-9300; www.lucania-palazzo.com ; Moreno 676; s/d AR$1060/1215; ) Comodoro's
answer to the Trump Towers, the sparkling Palazzo offers ocean views from every room
and tasteful modern decor, although ventilation could be better. While its features only
add up to those of a solid chain hotel, there's a decent restaurant and the eager staff offers
helpful recommendations.
WAM BOUTIQUE HOTEL $$$
$$$
( 406-8020; www.wamhotel.com.ar ; Av Hipólito Yrigoyen 2196; d AR$1050; ) Co-
modoro's only boutique effort is this shining new hotel just outside the town center, with
an unfortunate office-building-like exterior. Rooms have a refreshing, contemporary
look, with crisp white linens, neutral tones and glass-walled tubs. There's restaurant ser-
vice and a gym. Guests have access to spa, Jacuzzi and pool included. Located just off
the costanera, in a convenient but industrial area.
Eating
The oil boom in this part of the world has bankrolled a taste for fine dining. Look out for
the free Sabores del Sur restaurant directory in your hotel.

( 446-1201; Ameghino 620; mains AR$60) The place for pizza and classic Argentine em-
panadas, staple traveler fare.
Chocolates ICE CREAM $
(Av San Martín 231; cones AR$15; ) Ice-cream junkies will appreciate this parlor's selec-
tion of velvety chocolate and rich dulce de leche flavors. If you're traveling with chil-
dren, bring them here to ride the miniature carousel.
La Tradición PARILLA $$$
( 446-5800; Mitre 675; mains AR$50-120; closed Sun) A favorite of townsfolk, this eleg-
ant parrilla grills excellent beef, whole roast lamb and crisp shoestring fries in a setting
of white linens and oil paintings (literally, since their subjects are oil rigs!)
