Views of the Panamint Mountains are stellar from this formal dining room with a dress
code (no shorts or T-shirts, jeans ok), where the menu draws inspiration from Continental,
Southwestern and Mexican cuisine. Afternoon tea in the lobby lounge and Sunday brunch
are hoity-toity affairs. At least have a cocktail on the stone terrace as the sun sets beyond
the mountains (and the parking lot, but who's complaining?).

The Ranch at Furnace Creek's main restaurant serves pretty standard but belly-busting
buffets at breakfast and lunchtime (when tour bus groups invade) and turns into a pricey
steakhouse at night.
