The park's recently renovated main visitors center has fabulous exhibits on the local eco-
system and the native Timbasha and Shoshone peoples. The gorgeously shot movie Seeing
Death Valley screens here. Fill up water bottles, and check schedules for ranger-led activit-
ies.
Scotty's Castle Visitors Center TOURIST INFORMATION

Has exhibits from the castle's museum-worthy collection.
Getting There & Away
Gas is expensive in the park, so fill up your tank beforehand.
Furnace Creek can be reached via Baker (115 miles, two to 2½ hours), Beatty (45 miles,
one to 1½ hours), Las Vegas (via Hwy 160, 120 miles, 2½ to three hours), Lone Pine (105
miles, two hours), Los Angeles (300 miles, five to 5½ hours) and Ridgecrest (via Trona,
120 miles, 2½ to three hours).
