12.12.2.2 SAP Technical Team
Identifying the list of customizations using user exits, new reports using, and so on
Preparing the project SAP programming and documentation standards
Writing ABAP programs, user exits, and reports using tools such as Report Painter, Report
Writer, ABAP Query, Drilldown Reporting, or ABAP programming
Identification of interfaces and data to be uploaded into the SAP system from legacy and
non-SAP systems
Specification of the interfaces and data uploads
Programming the interfaces and data upload programs
Unit testing and integration testing
12.12.3 SAP Administration Team
The members of the SAP administration team will have to be skilled in three different areas: basis
system administration, database administration, and operating system administration.
The various tasks involved with the SAP Basis area are as follows:
Starting and stopping the SAP system
Daily administration using Computer Center Management System (CCMS)
Performing daily checks
Monitoring system logs
Monitoring SAP system/database alerts
Analyzing Advanced Business Applications Programming (ABAP) dumps and taking cor-
rective actions
Process monitoring
Update monitoring
Batch input monitoring
Monitoring lock entries
Managing user and system background jobs
Print administration
Temporary Sequential (TemSe) spool file administration for printing
Spool administration and tuning
Managing user information, authorization, and profiles
Importing transport requests
Error analysis and troubleshooting using logs, traces, and program dumps
Managing operations and use of the Online Service System (OSS)
Planning and managing the disaster recovery site
