Any chatter will be requested to view their webcam at some point during their conversa-
tions with others, that's no wonder, but what is really dubious and suspicious is when you
have just met someone online and the first request from them is for you to view your web-
cam.
You immediately get the feeling like, seriously???!!!! We've just met!! Tell me the truth,
would you say that? If you would…, then my friend no worries about you, you doing
great.
But what is really concerning is if you actually respond to that request and actually allow
them to view your webcam instead of asking yourself why would anyone have such in-
terests before getting to really know you.
You can validate that and convince yourself with dozens of lies, but the one fact that no
one can deny even yourself; is that whoever asks you to view your webcam during the
first meeting online is definitely not giving your brains a priority.
Some might give an excuse of that this request can make them be certain of the identity of
the person they are chatting with; oh my friend… that is exactly why so many people fall
victim to scammers' games.
Let me tell you a short true story. A friend of mine once was online chatting and making
new friends, she found herself getting along really well with some girl. She was very
lovely and friendly and the two of them started to bond because they seem to have so
much in common. As an example, the two of them are single moms, and just trying to
make their own way in life, of course all the time the woman was available on her cam
and in return asked my friend to turn hers on.
So far so good….. right?!
A strange thing started to happen, my friend started getting messages on her mobile phone
from a strange number, harassing her and threatening to expose her every little secrets. It
turned out that HE knew her every day schedule and where she goes to and from. She was
in a very bad situation, one that you would not want to be in yourself.
Long story in short, one day he revealed information that she had only given to the new
friend that she was chatting with online…only then she did understand that there was a
connection between the harassing man and the girl she was chatting with. When she con-
fronted her new friend, it turned out that there is no she at all and that all the time she was
texting to that man online and viewing her webcam to him and allowed him to view her
