Things to do in each Parish
Most of the information, which appears in this section, has appeared previously in the topic
but it has been grouped geographically based on the parishes. This will help you decide
what other attractions, activities or beaches are in the immediate vicinity.
The island is divided into 12 parishes, St Ouen the largest is over 3 times as large as St Cle-
ment the smallest, and it is surprising that in such a small area that they are unique. Contrast
the rugged northern parishes with the more urban parishes of the southeast. Most islanders
have their favourite areas of the island but I would encourage visitors to explore the whole
island and to make their own decisions.
St Helier
The capital and parish with the largest population, although it is easy dismiss St Helier
merely as urban sprawl there is plenty to within its boundaries and some surprisingly rural
scenes.
