Those heading into the city may want to continue to the Delta Visitor Centre (6201 60th
Ave., 604/946-4232, www.deltachamber.com , 9am-5pm daily in summer, 8:30am-4:30pm
Mon.-Fri. the rest of the year), which is well signposted from the main highway into the
city.
Continuing out to the historic fishing village of Steveston, Richmond Visitor Centre is
in a restored residence one block back from the waterfront. It's operated by Tourism Rich-
mond (3811 Moncton St., 604/271-8280 or 877/247-0777, www.tourismrichmond.com ,
9:30am-5pm daily).
Vancouver International Airport (604/247-7540) has information booths on the ar-
rival levels of the international and domestic terminals; both are open 8am-11:30pm daily.
North
A handy source of information north of the harbor is the small visitors center in the histor-
ical building beside Lonsdale Quay, which is open in summer 9am-6pm daily.
East
If you're approaching the city from the east along Highway 1, Chilliwack Visitor Centre
(44150 Luckakuck Way, 604/858-8121 or 800/567-9535, www.tourismchilliwack.com ,
9am-5pm daily in summer, 9am-5pm Mon.-Fri. the rest of the year) is a good place to stop,
stretch your legs, and gather some brochures.
A further 40 kilometers (25 miles) west toward the city, take Exit 92 to reach the Ab-
botsford Visitor Centre (34561 Delair Rd., 604/859-1721, www.tourismabbotsford.ca ,
9am-5pm daily June-Aug., 9am-5pm Mon.-Sat. Sept.-May).
At Exit 50 of the Trans-Canada Highway, cross back over the highway and continue
west along 104th Avenue to the Surrey Visitor Centre (730 176th St., 604/531-6646 or
888/531-6646, www.tourismsurrey.com , 9am-5pm daily mid-May-Aug., 10am-4pm Mon.-
Fri. the rest of the year).
Across the Fraser River from Surrey, Tourism New Westminster (604/526-1905,
www.tourismnewwestminster.org ) operates New Westminster Visitor Centre (788 Quay-
side Dr., 604/526-1905, 10am-6pm daily June-Aug.) in the riverfront market. This location
is out of the way for highway travelers, but if you do make the detour, take Brunette Avenue
south from Exit 40 off the Trans-Canada Highway.
