In-Depth Information
Seafood
On the north side of Burrard Inlet, M Salmon House on the Hill (2229 Folkstone Way,
West Vancouver, 604/926-3212, 10:30am-2:30pm Sat.-Sun. and 5pm-10pm daily, $28-39)
offers a relaxed atmosphere while providing panoramic views across Burrard Inlet to Stan-
ley Park and the city center from its elevated mountainside location. The cavernous interior
is full of First Nations arts and crafts, including a dugout canoe suspended over the main
dining area. For an appetizer, the seafood chowder is my recommendation. It's not a huge
serving, but it is thick and delicious. The house specialty of salmon barbecued over an open-
flame, alderwood-fired grill is hard to pass up as a main. To get there, take the 21st Street
Exit off Upper Levels Highway to Folkstone Way, and turn left on Ski Lift Road.
