You can also reverse this using the View drop-down menu again.
7. Choose Unsplit Left from the View drop-down menu for Gain1.
You are back where you were before—controlling the two views together.
Now to change the color of the bullet as it's leaving the barrel.
8. Go to frame 10 in the Timebar.
9. Create a keyframe for both the Gain property and the Gamma property.
10. Go to frame 1 in the Timebar.
11. Change these two properties so the bullet looks dark enough, as if it's still inside
the barrel. I set the Gain to 0.004 and the Gamma to 1.55, 1.5, 1.35.
Thisimageisstillpremultiplied, remember?Usingthe(Un)premultBycheckbox
in Grade1 earlier only unpremultiplied the image where Grade1 was applied. The
output of Grade1 is still a premultiplied image. You need to do the same here, in
Grade2.
12. Change the (Un)premult By drop-down menu to Rgba.alpha.

Before you finish this lesson, you will see what you did and learn a couple of things as
you do it.
1. Insert a Write node after Merge1.
2. Click the File property's Folder button to load a File Browser.
3. Navigate to your student_files directory and create another directory named bul-
let_full .
4. Give the file to render the name of bullet_%V.####.png and click Enter/Return
( FIGURE 8.46 ) .
