In-Depth Information
Now you have a 2013Essentials.IPJ file in the folder that you specified.
(The .ipj extension stands for Inventor Project File.) You need to add some
detail to make sure everything will be controlled as needed.
Modifying the Project File
In this exercise, you will add shortcut paths to folders that you will frequently
access and make sure that the standard parts you use are kept where you
need them.
1. In the top window of the Projects dialog box, double-click the 2013
Essentials project file to make it active.
2. In the bottom window, right-click Use Style Library, and switch it to
Read-Write in the context menu.
3. Click the Frequently Used Subfolders icon to highlight the row.
4. On the right, click the Add New Path icon.
5. A new row will be added under the row. In the field on the left, type
Assemblies . On the right, browse to set your path to C:\Inventor
2013Essentials\Assemblies . See Figure 1.25.
6. Click OK to set the path for the shortcut to the assembly files.
When the new shortcut is created, you will see that the path is dif-
ferent from what it was in the dialog box. Instead of showing the full
name, it will say Workspace\ Assemblies. This helps avoid problems if
the files need to be moved to another drive.
7. Add a shortcut for parts pointing toward the Parts folder and for
drawings pointing to the Drawings folder.
8. Expand the Folder Options section.
9. Click the Content Center Files icon, and click the Edit icon on the right.
10. Set the path for the Content Center files to C:\Inventor2013\Content
CenterFiles , as shown in Figure 1.26, and then click OK to complete
the edit. When prompted, save the changes.
