5. When a small dialog box listing the two parameters appears, click the
Width parameter.
6. Type height for the value of d1, and click Done to update the model.

7. Double-click the mouse wheel to zoom all to see the part.
8. Open the c15-02.xls file from the Parts\Chapter​15 folder in Excel,
and change the value for Width to 12. Close the spreadsheet, saving
the change.
9. In Inventor, click the Local Update icon in the Quick Access toolbar
to refresh the model.
Another technique that can save a lot of trouble is to link component param-
eters together. This avoids the need to edit two components to keep them fitting
together or to use a spreadsheet to combine parameters.
1. Make certain that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then
open c15-01.iam from the Assemblies\Chapter​15 folder.
2. Click the Constrain tool in the Position panel of the Assemble tab or
the marking menu.
3. In the Place Constraint dialog box, click the Constraint Set tab.
