on the part. Giving a parameter a meaningful name makes it easy to use the
Parameters dialog box to edit the part.
Linking Parameters to an External Source
A common technique for building a table-driven product is to use a Microsoft
Excel spreadsheet to control the model parameters. Connecting to the param-
eters is easy, as you'll see in this exercise:
1. Make certain that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then
open c15-02.ipt from the Parts\Chapter15 folder.
2. Start the Parameters tool, and in the dialog box, click the Link button.
3. In the Open dialog box, double-click the c15-02.xls file in the
Parts\Chapter15 folder.
The parameters and their values from the spreadsheet appear under
the file path.
4. In the Equation value area for d0, right-click and click List Parameters
in the context menu.
