6. The Symbol tool will continue to work. Click the face on the far right,
drag a leader away from the part, and click a second point for the leader.
7. Right-click and click Continue to launch the dialog box again, and
place a Surface symbol on the leader. See Figure 6.16.
8. Right-click and choose Cancel, or press the Esc key to stop the
Surface symbol tool.

Although this exercise covers only one type of symbol, nearly all of them work
in the same way.
Balloon
The exploded presentation view is a great way to display the physical makeup
of an assembly, but you also need to be able to document what the components
are. Calling out the parts using balloons and generating a list of the parts can
help create a more complete document.
1. Verify that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then open
c06-13.idw from the Drawings\Chapter​6 folder.

2. The Balloon tool is on the marking menu (in an open part of the Design
window) and on the Annotate tab in the Table panel. Start the tool.
3. The Balloon tool opens in component-selection mode. Click the wheel
on the left end.
This launches the BOM Properties dialog box to define the source of
the balloon information based on the bill of materials (BOM) structure.
