Special Symbols
Many types of symbols are needed for drawings. Inventor includes a wide selec-
tion of symbols and the ability to define your own. These symbols can be placed
directly or attached to a leader.
1. Verify that the 2013 Essentials project file is active, and then open
c06-12.idw from the Drawings\Chapter​6 folder.
2. In the Symbols panel of the Annotate tab, locate and start the
Surface tool.
3. Click the top surface that the Leader Text is attached to.
4. Right-click and select Continue from the context menu to open the
Surface Texture dialog box (Figure 6.15).
5. Make any changes in the dialog box, and click OK to place the symbol.
