FIG. 5.34
F r om the front, rotate and position the sphere over her left breast.
FIG. 5.35
Select both objects and combine them.
(Tip: Holding down Shift will allow you to add to your current selection.)
Now we can start to stitch the two elements together and remove the seams.
We will focus on the top of the sphere i rst.
To connect the sphere to the chest, we need to open the torso and create a
point we can connect to. To help us here, we will use the Cut Tool (X) .
(Note: Refer to Chapter 3 for more information on the Cut tool.)
To begin, we need two simple cuts across two of the large polygons on the torso.
Select the model and go to Modify > Cut to enable the Cut tool (or
simply press X ). The mouse pointer will change to an arrow to indicate the
tool is active.
As in Figure 5 36b, click on the vertex on the torso just above the sphere,
and then click again on the vertex below, and to the right. A line will
appear to indicate the cut.
Do this again, starting at the same vertex, but this time select the vertex to
the lower left, giving us four triangles.
(Tip: If the vertex is hidden by the geometry, you can click on the connecting
edge and, while holding down the mouse button, drag the point along the
edge to the vertex.)
