In-Depth Information
The i nal helmet.
FIG. 10.27
You now have the main helmet model, so use your imagination and add some
details.
Figure 10.27 shows the completed helmet with a few adjustments, and details
like a vent and a few caps added.
(You can i nd the Silo scene created in this section in Chapter10/Files/10_
Helmet.sib.)
Accessories
The rocket pack and helmet are complete, so now let's turn our attention
to the various straps and buckles that hold everything in place. We initially
created placeholder geometry for these to help as we sculpted, so let's now
look at upgrading these elements.
R o c ket Pack Straps
Rather than physically try to edit the placeholder straps for the rocket pack,
we will build new ones to replace them. The easiest way to do this is to create
a single strap and re-use it for the others.
(Tip: As always, having some reference material at hand is a great idea.)
We need a strap with a clip she would unclasp to take the rocket pack of , so
let's start work.
Following Figure 10.28 , begin with a simple cube, Extruding the ends to
form the bend at one end.
