exercise 6.6: tour Your Model with a Camera
Path Animation
In this exercise you are going to create a camera path animation to simulate
observing the wind farm while traveling through the town of Bimsville.
If you are continuing from the previous exercise, you can skip to step 3.
Otherwise, if you haven't already done so, go to the topic's web page at www
.sybex.com/go/infraworksessentials and download the files for Chapter 6.
Unzip the files to the correct location on your hard drive according to the
instructions in the introduction of this topic.
1. If it is not already open, launch InfraWorks.
2. On the Start Page, click Open and browse to C:\InfraWorks Essentials\
Chapter 06\ . Click Ch06 Bimsville Bypass.sqlite and click Open.
3. In the top-right corner of your screen, click the Proposals drop-down
list and select Ex_6_4_to_6_8.
4. If the Presentation toolbar is not visible, click the Presentation icon
on the main toolbar.
5. On the Presentation toolbar, click Storyboard Creator.
6. In the Storyboard panel, click Add New Storyboard. Type Wind Farm
Visibility for Storyboard Name.
7. Click the drop-down for camera paths and select Add Camera Path
Animation, as shown in FigureĀ 6.22.
Notice that the first keyframe was created automatically and set
to match your current view. The first thing you will need to do is fix
this first keyframe.
8. Restore the Wind Farm KF-01 bookmark.
9. Click the Reset button beneath the keyframe thumbnail in the right
portion of the Storyboard panel.
10. Restore the Wind Farm KF-02 bookmark.
11. Click the plus sign icon located at the right edge of the keyframe
thumbnail shown on the storyboard timeline, as shown earlier in
FigureĀ 6.23.
A new keyframe is created that matches the current view.
