In-Depth Information
setting uses a slightly different approach to create a smooth transi-
tion between keyframes. In most cases you'll find that Interpolate
Direction works the best.
keyframe (name) Here you can type the name of the current
keyframe and change it to anything you like.
waiting time When Waiting Time is set to something other
than 0, the storyboard will pause at the location of the keyframe
and maintain a still shot for the length of time specified here. This
is a great feature for placing emphasis on a given location or allow-
ing time for a caption to be read (captions are covered later).
go to keyframe Location Click this button to automatically
pan and zoom to the location and view angle represented by the
current keyframe. This is an extremely handy tool for editing
camera path animations because it enables quick access to find a
keyframe view so that you can adjust and reset it if needed. (Reset
is covered in a moment.)
refresh keyframe thumbnail Sometimes you will edit the
model, and therefore the keyframe image becomes outdated. This
command will look at the current state of the model and regener-
ate the thumbnail image to match.
reset This will reset the current keyframe to match your current
view in the model. This is a great companion to the Go To Keyframe
Location command mentioned earlier. Often you will want to make
minor adjustments to the camera path animation, and these two
buttons are critical to performing these types of edits efficiently.
Camera speed Control This section is where you can control how fast the
camera moves as it progresses through the animation. The choices are as follows:
keep speed With this choice, the software will match the speed
of the previous transition. Because of this, the Keep Speed option
is not available for the first keyframe.
set speed When you choose this option, enter the speed with
which you want the camera to move from the current keyframe to
the next one.
time to next keyframe When you choose this option, enter
the time (in seconds) that you would like it to take for the camera
to move from the current keyframe to the next one.
