Once you have a rectangular selection, choose Edit > Define Brush Preset; the Brush Name dialog box
appears.

into the Name text field and click OK. Choose File > Close to close this file, but do
not save.
Save your custom brush preset.
Editing your brush
In this next section, you will adjust the size and spacing of your custom brush before you apply it to the
path.

Select the Brush tool and then select the Brush Preset Picker in the upper-left area of the Options bar.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and make sure to select your new custom brush

Choose Window > Brush; your brush is already selected.

In the Size text field type

. The spacing decides the amount of
space between your brush instances.

Click the Create new brush icon ( ) at the bottom of the Brushes panel. The Brush name dialog box ap-
pears; name the file
My Brush edited
and click OK.
Change the size and spacing of your brush, then save it.
Applying your custom brush to the path
You will now apply the custom brush to your Pen path.
