Press and hold the Alt/Option and drag a corner outwards.
4 Now click individual handles and click and drag to adjust the selection so that it better fits the outside
of the clock. When you have adjusted the handles to match, press the Return/Enter key or click the
Commit transform button located on the right side of the Options bar.
5 Choose Select > Save Selection, name this selection clock outside , and click OK.
6 Keep the selection active and the file open for the next part of the selection.
Combining your selections
Sometimes it is easier to combine selections to create a more difficult one. In this lesson, you take your
two saved selections and use them to create the selection of the casing around the clock.
1 Make sure that you still have the outside of the clock selected. If you need to reselect the clock outside
selection, choose Select > Load Selection and choose the channel named clock outside.
2 With the outside already selected, choose Select > Load Selection, and then choose the channel clock
face. Do not click OK yet.
3 In the Operation section, choose Subtract from Selection, and then click OK.
Choose to subtract one selection from the other.
The result.
4 Save your new selection by choosing Select > Save Selection; name this selection clock case , and then
click OK.
For additional practice, you will now experiment with curves in this selected area.
5 If you do not see the Layers panel, choose Windows > Layers now.
