Adding a drop shadow
In this next part, you'll add a drop shadow to the text and then save your combination of styles.
1 With the Trade snow layer still active, click the Add layer style button at the bottom of the Layers pan-
el, and then select Drop Shadow. The Layer Style dialog box appears with the Drop Shadow options
visible.
2 Position the Layer Style dialog box so you can also see the preview on your image. Click and drag the
shadow that is applied to your image to see that you can change the distance and angle visually. You
can position the shadow any way you like for this lesson.
Click and drag in the image area to visually change the distance and angle of the drop shadow.
3 Click the Set color of shadow box to the right of the Blend Mode. When the Color Picker dialog box
appears, position your cursor over the darker part of the ocean (at the top of your image) and click to
sample the dark blue. Click OK to set the drop shadow color.
