Dining at Disney's Polynesian Resort
'Ohana
Character meal (breakfast only), on second floor of main building
CUISINE Character breakfast with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. Dinner (served family
style) is heavy on meat. DDP Yes. DISCOUNTS 20% TiW.
HOURS AND PRICES Breakfast (7:30-11:00am): $27 adults, $16 kids. Dinner (5-10pm): $42
adults, $22 kids.
OVERVIEW Characters stop by for the Polynesian-themed breakfast served family-style.
Scrambled eggs, Mickey waffles, fried potatoes, pork sausage, bacon, and biscuits will all
be delivered in copious quantities throughout the meal. It's a limited selection compared to
buffets, but it does the trick and the characters are friendly. Dinner starts with pineapple-
coconut bread and salad and continues with honey-coriander chicken wings and potstick-
ers. Skewers with char-sui pork loin, marinated sirloin steak, and spicy grilled peel-n-eat
shrimp follow with stir-fried vegetables and lo mein as accompaniments. The restaurant is
incredibly loud, particularly at dinner when staff members lead kids in games and parades
throughout the meal. Very few tables have window views of Magic Kingdom. (Protip: It's
'Ohana. Not O'hana. Or O'hana's. Just, 'Ohana. It means “family”.)
Kona Café

CUISINE American, Pan-Asian. HOURS Breakfast: 7:30-11:15am; Lunch: 12-2:45pm; Din-
ner; 5-10pm. DDP Yes. DISCOUNTS 20% TiW.
PRICES Breakfast Entrées: $9-$15. Lunch/Dinner Appetizers: $8-$15. Lunch Entrées:
$12-$19. Dinner Entrées: $19-$33. Kids : $9.
OVERVIEW Kona is too many people's “best kept secret” to really count as a secret anymore,
but the restaurant remains one of Disney's hidden gems, particularly for its relatively in-
expensive, high-quality lunch. Although most famous for its Tonga Toast (banana-stuffed
sourdough French toast rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with a strawberry compote),
the Macadamia-Pineapple Pancakes with macadamia nut butter and pineapple sauce might
be even better. Lunch is sandwiches, Pan-Asian noodle bowls, tacos, and satisfying plated
lunches featuring grilled steak or chicken for under $16 each. Dinner remains reasonably
priced with many entrees under $25 and more of an emphasis on steak, ahi tuna, chicken,
and the like. Excellent sushi is served inside the restaurant and next door at the Sushi Bar
