OVERVIEW
Modeled after Tony's from
Lady and the Tramp
, guests have an opportunity to
relive the romance at this casual family trattoria that serves Olive-Garden-quality Italian
food in a relaxing atmosphere. Lunch is the better choice with items like pizzas (all under
$17), a Meatball Trio Sandwich ($14), and Shrimp Scampi ($19) all good quality at reas-
onable prices. At dinner, less expensive pizzas and sandwiches are replaced by New York
Strip Steak ($33), Grilled Pork Tenderloin ($24), and that sort of thing, though less ex-
pensive pastas are also available. Quality on the higher-end items doesn't justify the prices.
Kids' choices include spaghetti, pizzas, and pasta. Service is conspicuously fast, with most
meals complete within an hour.
Dining at Downtown Disney
The Downtown Disney shopping and entertainment complex (DTD, currently seeing
massive construction and soon to be renamed Disney Springs) includes more than a dozen
third-party-operated table service restaurants and quick services, most on the Dining Plan
and reservable on My Disney Experience. Some have additional capacity that can be re-
served directly over the phone or via
OpenTable.com
. More will come as part of the current
Disney Springs expansion. In addition to restaurants, you'll find in DTD many stores, some
Disney and others of the variety you'd find at the local mall. There's also the AMC movie
theater, Splitsville upscale bowling alley, DisneyQuest interactive arcade, and a Cirque du
Soleil show called
La Nouba
.
DTD is currently broken up into three sections: the West Side, Pleasure Island, and Mar-
ketplace. When Disney Springs opens in its entirety in Spring 2016, it will feature four
distinct neighborhoods: The Landing, Marketplace, West Side, and Town Center. Venues
in The Landing will begin opening in 2015, with the Town Center the last piece to open in
2016.
THE WEST SIDE
. The West Side is dominated by the Cirque du Soleil, DisneyQuest, Splits-
ville, and AMC buildings, with a sprinkling of retail and several restaurants and quick ser-
vices.
West Side quick service options are diverse, though relatively limited. Bongos Cuban
Café includes a small takeout window offering mostly sandwiches with a few traditional
Cuban entrees from the kitchen available to-go. With drab outdoor seating as the only op-
tion, most guests will bypass it for something more comfortable. House of Blues opened a
barbecue joint in late 2013 to mixed reviews—seating is also outside, but live music per-
meates the area beginning daily around 4pm. One of two Wolfgang Puck Express locations
is attached to the restaurant across from the movie theater. The pizza is excellent, but the
menu is far less diverse than the Express location in the Marketplace and seating is again
all outdoors. One of two Starbucks locations opened in summer 2014, reliably offering
