the company's usual beverage and food lineup for about the same cost as your local shop.
Beginning at 4pm daily, the menu expands to include wine and additional food offerings.
Finally, Disney is getting into the food truck game with an area dedicated to food trucks
opening between Bongos and Wolfgang Puck. The trucks will serve a variety of Disney fa-
vorites from around the globe, in addition to unique offerings.
On the table service front, Splitsville often has last-minute availability and is an easy
walk-up when other restaurants are quoting 45+ minute waits without a reservation, as they
often are after 6pm. Its pizza, burgers, and sushi are surprisingly good. House of Blues is
economically priced and extremely casual for a nice, no-fuss lunch or dinner. It may be
busier if a popular act is scheduled to perform in the club next door. Bongos Cuban Café's
menu favors quantity over quality, where you'll find over 50 entrée choices. Grab a mojito
from the outdoor bar and look for dinner elsewhere. We don't have a lot of nice things to
say about the Wolfgang Puck Café or the Grand Café above it. Food, service, and ambiance
are better elsewhere.
PLEASURE ISLAND . Much of Pleasure Island has either been closed or will be demolished in
2015. Remaining are a handful of restaurants: Planet Hollywood, Paradiso 37, Portobello,
Fulton's, and Raglan Road. The clubs that once dotted the landscape closed years ago.
Even so, Pleasure Island is still home to several great restaurants, particularly for lunch
when prices are far more reasonable. The island's quick service is Cookes of Dublin. We
like Cookes' Irish food a lot for lunch and early dinners, but it gets backed up in the even-
ings and there's rarely anywhere to sit. For lunch, our favorite is Fulton's Crab House,
which is located in a riverboat on the water. The lunch menu replicates the famous dinner
menu's focus on fish and seafood, but the lobster is found in a sandwich for $16 instead
of on a plate for $50+. Lunch at next-door Portobello is also a good value—the same great
Italian food as at dinner for about half the price, but in a forgettable atmosphere. Raglan
Road Irish Pub is best at dinner. While prices are a couple dollars higher here and there,
the live music and dancing are worth the extra cost. The only two stragglers are Planet
Hollywood and Paradiso 37. Paradiso is great for appetizers and margaritas, but the south-
of-the-border entrees are overpriced and the atmosphere is lackluster considering the other
options. The worst restaurant on just about every front is Planet Hollywood—loud, garish,
and expensive.
THE MARKETPLACE . The Marketplace section is predominantly retail with a few restaurants
and quick services mixed in. Shoppers looking for Disney items should pay special at-
tention to World of Disney, Tren-D, Once Upon A Toy, The Art of Disney, and the Mar-
ketplace Co-Op. You'll find just about every imaginable theme park item in one of these
stores.
The Marketplace is home to our favorite DTD quick services: Earl of Sandwich and
Wolfgang Puck Express. Earl of Sandwich serves excellent hot sandwiches for less than
seven dollars each, in addition to great tasting sides and desserts. Lines can appear long,
but service is surprisingly fast. Wolfgang Puck Express is more expensive than most quick
services, but its food is table service quality and a server will deliver your meal and take
care of drink refills and other needs. Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop is one of
the best places on property to indulge. Decadent sundaes are $9-$10 and, for those looking
to be able to walk out after without assistance, best shared.
Two kid favorites operated by the same parent company are located in the Marketplace:
Rainforest Café and T-REX. Rainforest is best known for providing dining in a tropical
