In-Depth Information
Tinker Bell at Town Square Theater
RANKING The only place to normally meet Tink. EMH No. FP+ Yes, low priority. TYPE
Character meet-and-greet. REQUIREMENTS A willingness to be shrunk down to fairy size.
WHAT TO EXPECT Tinker Bell meets alone in a location that doesn't make a lot of thematic
sense, but she does feature a nice backdrop and it is air-conditioned. SCARY FACTOR None.
WHEN TO GO In the first two or last two hours of operation or with FP+. EXPECT TO WAIT
10-20 minutes in the afternoon. LENGTH About a minute of one-on-one time.
The Walt Disney World Railroad
RANKING Minor attraction. EMH No. FP+ No. TYPE Steam train tour around the outer peri-
meter of the park, with additional stops in Frontierland near Splash Mountain and Fantasy-
land near Barnstormer. REQUIREMENTS None.
WHAT TO EXPECT The Disney World Railroad is a relaxing way to see parts of the Magic
Kingdom that you might miss by simply walking around in a hurry. Some very minor vign-
ettes are only visible from the train (and the steamboat). You board at any of the three sta-
tions and ride for as long as you like around the 1.5 mile track. If you are traveling between
areas near two of the stops, the train is a nice break from walking. The strollers Disney
rents at the park are not allowed on the train. You will need to remove your belongings,
name card, and have your receipt handy to pick up a new stroller at your final destination.
Skippable for those on shorter visits. SCARY FACTOR None.
WHEN TO GO Anytime attraction. See it when waits are long at other rides, or when you want
to use it as transport to save walking. The train stops operating prior to Wishes in the even-
ing and does not usually resume service. EXPECT TO WAIT Only for the next train—7-10
minutes. LENGTH A full circle around the Magic Kingdom takes about 20 minutes. WHERE
TO SIT Views are best from the side where you board.
Adventureland
Split into two distinct areas—the Arabian Village and Caribbean Plaza—Adventureland
is distinctively adventure-y. In the Arabian section, you'll find the majority of the at-
tractions—Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, and Swiss Family Tree-
house—in addition to the popular Dole Whips at Aloha Isle. Agrabah Bazaar is the primary,
smallish store offering wares perfect for the adventurers among us. A store sponsored
by Sunglass Hut is located across from Swiss Family Treehouse, offering sunglasses that
largely cost hundreds of dollars each. To the right of the entrance to Pirates is the signup
building for the fun Pirate's Adventure Treasures of the Seven Seas interactive game. It in-
cludes a high-quality map that sends players around Adventureland unlocking secrets and
setting off surprises. Visit in the afternoon as a fun diversion when waits peak elsewhere.
Arabian Village opens up to Caribbean Plaza on the Frontierland side, hosting the clas-
sic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction with an expansive store at its exit offering everything
pirate. Tortuga Tavern is the land's quick service, often only open from 11am-3pm and
serving taco and nacho fare across from Pirates. It's a nice way to mix up the usual burgers
and nuggets found elsewhere. Sunshine Tree Terrace behind The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
