ery is your best spot for handmade treats and cupcakes. Further up on the right is Main
Street Bakery, which now hosts the park's Starbucks. Past that is Main Street Cinema,
Uptown Jewelers, and Crystal Arts, all offering upscale items like Dooney and Bourke bags

theme park exclusive charms.
At the end of Main Street on the left is Casey's Corner, serving hot dogs with interesting
toppings like barbecue pork and coleslaw or a polish sausage with stone-ground mustard

Further on the left is Crystal Palace, which hosts a Winnie the Pooh and friends buffet for
all three meals. On the right is Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, which is a great spot for a sundae in
the afternoon. To the right of it is The Plaza Restaurant, serving the most inexpensive table
service sandwich fare on property.
Jim's Gems
by Jim Korkis
The hitching posts on Main Street, U.S.A., were the contribution of art director Emile
Kuri, who won an Academy Award for his work on the Disney feature film 20,000
Leagues Under the Sea (1954). Kuri also earned another Oscar for his work on The
Heiress (1949). Part of the filming for that movie was done at an authentic 1840 man-
sion and the owner was especially pleased with the care Kuri had taken of the house.
In appreciation, he gifted Kuri with an original vintage hitching post from the prop-
erty. Kuri later used that antique to create a mold for Main Street's posts.
