In-Depth Information
Medium-High. Guests plummet down an 80-foot drop at speeds up to 50 miles per hour in
the dark, but it could be worse. CAN WE HANDLE IT? If you enjoyed Rock 'n' Roller Coast-
er, or any other “big coaster”, you shouldn't have a problem. It is more intense than Space
Mountain, but not so intense that the younger crowd won't be jumping up and down beg-
ging to ride. Some motion sickness risk, but no loops or inversions. Little jostling or jerki-
ness.
WHEN TO GO At park open, in the final hour of operation, or with FastPass+. EXPECT TO
WAIT 25 to 50 minutes in the afternoon. LENGTH 3 minutes. WHERE TO SIT The first row
provides the best view, but the last provides the wildest ride. There really isn't a bad seat
on the train. single rider line : Yes, to the right of standby entrance.
Flights of Wonder
RANKING Minor attraction. EMH No. FP+ No. TYPE Stage show. REQUIREMENTS None.
WHAT TO EXPECT Guests enter a covered outdoor theater and find seats on bleacher-style
benches without backs. A skilled trainer introduces viewers to over 20 species of birds, in-
cluding a Great Horned Owl, Harris Hawk, and bald eagle. Tour Group Leader Guana Joe
(or Jane) and his intense fear of birds provides comic relief throughout the show that in-
cludes several incredible tricks. We think it's under-rated. SCARY FACTOR Low for anyone
without ornithophobia.
WHEN TO GO One of the last two shows will minimize crowds without wasting precious
morning touring time. Otherwise, whenever it's convenient. EXPECT TO WAIT Arrive ten
minutes early. LENGTH 30 minutes. WHERE TO SIT At least half way back in the center sec-
tion is best, though there isn't a bad seat in the house.
Kali River Rapids
RANKING Major attraction. EMH Morning. FP+ Yes. High priority when temperatures are
80+. TYPE Flume ride. REQUIREMENTS 38” or taller.
WHAT TO EXPECT Expect to get drenched on Kali, which follows a story about the destruc-
tion caused by illegal forestry. Riders board large rafts that seat 12 people in a circle around
the outside perimeter of the raft. Your raft will be pulled up a 90 foot hill and then be re-
leased to freely but briefly float down the rapids, passing through geysers, waterfalls, and
beautiful tropical jungles before plummeting down a 30-foot waterfall. The drop isn't fast
or particularly thrilling, but it is still fun. Our opinion is that it's not worth the wait or the
possible discomfort of wet socks and clothes. Complimentary lockers are located across
from the entrance. Put everything you don't want getting wet inside before riding. SCARY
FACTOR The ride starts off with a 90 foot uphill ascent, but there are no steep drops.
WHEN TO GO When it's hot, visit before 10am or in the last hour of operation. EXPECT TO
WAIT 35 to 70 minutes in the afternoon when it's hot; 15 to 20 minutes when temperatures
are under 70. LENGTH 5 minutes total, 2 of which are spent on the initial lift. WHERE TO SIT
Anywhere.
