The next three selections will vary from facility to facility outside the classroom. With
Enable Version Control selected, Final Cut Server will automatically create and track
changes to assets that are checked in or uploaded. In essence, version control creates a
“history” of an asset.

If necessary, select Enable Version Control, which is selected by default.
The Enable Edit Proxies option creates “offline quality” media files of an uploaded
Final Cut Pro project. Typically, this function is used to create smaller, editable media
files for an offline/online edit workflow. The quality (and size) of the resulting proxies
can be controlled within the client application's Administration window.

Select the Enable Edit Proxies option.
The “Catalog Media device automatically” option creates one of the many automated
workflow features of Final Cut Server. If selected, it creates a scheduled automation
that scans the production media device for changes and adjusts the Final Cut Server
database accordingly. You may choose not to enable this feature during installation
but retain the option to configure later.
