If necessary, return to the Final Cut Server pane in System Preferences.

In the General pane, note the default setting for Max Running Jobs. It's currently
set to 10, which is a good value for running a contained Final Cut Server system that
does the transcoding locally. If you were integrating Final Cut Server with an Apple
Qmaster cluster, you could safely bump up this number based on the number of
nodes (your mileage may vary depending on system specs) in increments of five jobs
until you reach a satisfactory threshold.
For Retry Count, enter 5 ; and for Retry Timeout, enter 60 . These values tell Final
Cut Server to retry a failed job five times, pausing 60 seconds between each try (most
modern servers should power cycle in 5 minutes). You can modify these values based
on your infrastructure, taking into account the time it takes your destination servers
to go through a power cycle (one of the more likely causes of a failed job). When fin-
ished, quit System Preferences.
