2 The Connotation of the Project Course Developmental
Evaluation in the Higher Vocational Education
2.1 The Inherent Requirements of the Project Course Evaluation in the Higher
Vocational Education
The project course is the course mode which is to select, organize course content
according to task, and to complete the career job as learning mode. In order to make the
project course can meet the target, there must be suitable evaluation mechanisms
running through each stage of the curriculum like design, implement, etc. The
evaluation mechanisms will ensure the well alignment between course standards and
professional qualification standards, and the excellent inosculation among theoretical
courses, practical contents and technology contents. [1].
Therefore, the evaluation of the project course in Higher Vocational Education
needs to emphasis the occupational, applied and practical features, and starts with
professional ability, adhere to the principle -- “ability-based education where theory
and professional are both important” [2]. Through the collection and use of
information, to assess the rationality, scientificity, curriculum implementation
conditions and implementation effect of the professional course in the Higher
Vocational Education. Meanwhile, keep seeking the ways to improve the curriculum
mechanism.
2.2 The Connotation of Course Developmental Evaluation
Developmental evaluation is one kind of concepts, which accelerate the continuous
improvement in course. It is formed gradually in the development of course evaluation.
The fundamental meaning of developmental evaluation is introspection, in which the
process of course exploitation is rethought profoundly. By rethinking and evaluating
each stage of course development, to ensure the course reformation sticks to the
original plan. Therefore, the connotation of course developmental evaluation is to
appreciate the formative ability which regards reformation as the main characteristic.
Secondly, the developmental evaluation of course considers the improvement of
students' and teachers' ability as the core objectives. The evaluation carries out among
students and teachers, and evaluates the development of course itself. Therefore,
evaluation of developmental course is the inherent requirement in the Higher
Vocational Education.
