Creating a chart
Often, patterns in your data are easier to see when you present that data chart form. After creating
a table or matrix, you can use the tools on the Design tab to convert it to one of the following chart
types:
Stacked bar
■
100% stacked bar
■
Clustered bar
■
Stacked column
■
100% stacked column
■
Clustered column
■
Line
■
Scatter
■
Pie

Adding a clustered bar chart
The process of working with column, bar, and line charts is similar. Let's create a clustered bar chart to
learn the basic steps.
In the View section, click the matrix. On the ribbon, on the Power View tab, click the Copy but-
ton. Click a blank area of the View section and then, on the ribbon, click the Paste button. If
necessary, drag the new matrix to the area below the first matrix.

Remove the
Style
field from the Columns box by dragging it back to the Power View Fields list.
2.
With the new matrix still selected, on the Design tab, click the Bar Chart button and then, on
the menu that appears, click Clustered Bar. Resize the width of the chart to fully display the
legend, as shown in Figure 5-18:
