Sand's Restaurant
DANISH
11.30am-9.30pm Mon-Sat)
The menu at this classy 100-year-old restaurant is an ode to old-school Danish favourites:
lunchtime smørrebrød and herring platters, evening fish (try the
bakskuld,
a local fish not
unlike a flounder) and plenty of classic
bøf
(beef).
Dronning Louise
INTERNATIONAL
10am-1am Mon-Wed, to 3am Thu, 4am Fri, 5am Sat, midnight Sun; )
Jack-of-all-trades, the Queen Louise commands a great central position on Torvet: she's a
restaurant, pub and even a nightclub (Friday and Saturday), with occasional live music,
too. You can dine from the broad, classic-hits menu on the square, inside or in the rear
courtyard. Kitchen closes 10.30pm Monday to Saturday, 9.30pm Sunday.
Paddy Go Easy
PUB
Skolegade is where to head to when you're thirsty; it's virtually wall-to-wall bars. We like
Paddy Go Easy for the real Irish accents behind (and often in front of) the bar, Kilkenny
and Guinness on tap, and decent
craic
all round.
Information
Torvet, the city square, can be found where Skolegade and Torvegade intersect. The train
and bus stations are about 300m east of Torvet; the Fanø ferry terminal is 1km southwest.
Tourist Office
