In-Depth Information
Esbjerg's best value is found in this classy century-old building that's been thoroughly ren-
ovated and sits in a prime inner-city location. It's a hit with international and local visitors,
who enjoy its good rates and light-filled rooms, all with bathroom, kettle and TV. Free
parking, a decent breakfast buffet (Dkr70) and free wi-fi add up to a good deal.

An excellent choice if you don't mind being out of the city centre. It's in a spiffy location,
neighbouring a sports stadium, swimming pool, park and cinema. The old building is
lovely and the communal facilities top-notch; rooms in the new wing all have private bath-
rooms. It's 3km northwest of the city centre on bus 4.

The town's largest and most business-oriented hotel has professional service, smart rooms
and well-regarded eateries in a central location, but its rack rates are clearly pitched at
expense-account business travellers. Weekend and summer rates (late June to August) are
better value at Dkr860/960 per single/double.

If Esbjerg's industry has you yearning for a little trademark Danish hygge (cosiness), make
your way 10km north of town to this delightful 'bathing hotel' on the beach. There's a
gourmet restaurant here, the well-regarded Strandpavillonen (open Monday to Saturday
evening; bookings advised), plus the Ship Inn , an inviting cafe-bar open from 11am to
midnight daily.
