Adamsen's Fisk SEAFOOD
(Gilleleje Havn; meals Dkr50-79; 11am-9pm, sushi bar 11am-8pm)
This popular harbourside takeaway dishes up fish, seafood, sides of chips and more salu-
brious salads. The fish and seafood are heavily battered, so delicate stomachs and waist-
watchers may prefer the grilled options. After selecting your combo, you're given a token
which flashes when your order is ready. For those who prefer their fish raw, Adamsen's
has a sushi bar next door (10-piece sushi set Dkr130).
Rogeriet Bornholm SMOKEHOUSE
(Gilleleje Havn; fish Dkr40-60; 8am-6.30pm Mon-Fri, to 5.30pm Sat & Sun)
Close to Adamsen's Fisk, this simple smokehouse sells inexpensive smoked fish by the
piece.
Isen ICE CREAM
(Vesterbrogade 3; 2 scoops Dkr30;
noon-9pm Mon-Fri, 11am-9pm Sat & Sun Jul & Aug, reduced hrs
rest of yr)
A stickler for tradition, ice-cream peddler Isen crafts its waffle cones in wrought-iron
molds. Filling them is north Zealand's revered Hansen ice cream, made with proper, old-
fashioned cream. Needless to say, the result is sublime. Don't let the queues put you off -
good things come to the patient!
Restaurant Brasseriet SEAFOOD
(Nordre Havnevej 3; lunch Dkr58-148, dinner mains Dkr188-255; noon-4pm & 5.30-9pm)
By the harbour and featuring a shady courtyard, Brasseriet keeps the lunch crowds purring
with its tasty Danish classics, among them succulent fiskefrikadeller (fish cakes) with red
onion creme tartar. The more limited dinner menu usually includes a daily fish special, as
well as a steak and pasta dish. Vegetarians will struggle.
Gilleleje Havn DANISH
( www.gillelejehavn.dk ; Havnevej 14; lunch Dkr78-138, dinner mains Dkr170-250;
