In-Depth Information
These components were simple; but as I said, they probably represent a lot of
the components you may create on a regular basis. In the next step, you'll
assemble them and add features to complete them:
1. Begin a new assembly fi le using the Standard (in).iam template.
2. Switch the Ribbon to the View tab, and select the Tile tool from the
Windows panel. Your screen should look something like Figure 4.15.
FIGURE 4.15 Using alternate views can help you manage the development
of your design.
3. Click the title bar of the Bearing Plate.ipt window to make it the
active fi le. The Browser updates to show the features that make up
your latest creation.
4. In the Browser, click and drag the icon next to the words Bearing
Plate.ipt onto the part of the screen showing the empty assembly,
and release.
Doing so adds the bearing plate to the new assembly as the
grounded part.
5. Do the same for the bearing holder. You result should resemble
Figure 4.16.
