This friendly licensed soup bar makes a great stop at any time but especially in low tem-
peratures. It does three daily soups and pasta specials, pretty much guaranteed to be deli-
cious. There are also salads and tapas-sized portions of Finnish treats such as meatballs.

A couple of blocks west of the pedestrian zone, this vegetarian lunch restaurant is an ex-
cellent bet. Six euros gets you soup and salad bar, seven buys a hot dish instead of the
soup, and nine gets you the lot. It changes daily - you might get pasta, ratatouille or curry
- but it's always tasty.

With a warm drawing-room feel and cordial service, this backs up the atmosphere with ex-
cellent food served in generous portions. The fish is especially good, served with creamy
sauces and inventive garnishes. Sizeable steaks are a given, and reindeer and bear make
occasional appearances. There are good vegetarian mains too, and it's youngster-friendly
Next door, in the 'Winebistro', a number of interesting drops are served by the glass,
and Spanishy tapas plus good-value bistro plates (€18 to €24; open 11am to 11pm
Monday, 2pm to 10pm Sunday) are available.
