The city streets are brightened by 40,000 coloured lights between late October and early
January. The central square becomes a Christmas market in December.

Four-and-a-half kilometres south of the city centre (take bus 1 or 11), this is a spacious
campground on the Pyhäjärvi lakeshore. There's a cafe, saunas and rowboats, as well as
