Click the Inbound Filters or Outbound Filters buttons to configure packet filters on this
interface. See Recipe 5-9, “Managing Packet Filters,” for details on configuring packet
filters.

Check the Fragmentation Checking check box if you want the router to discard all
fragmented IP packets that do not correspond to traffic permitted by the filters on
this interface.
To configure the method of IP address allocation, follow these steps:
1.
Select the Configuration tab.
2.
Specify an IP address, subnet, and gateway for this interface, or configure the interface
to obtain addressing values from a DHCP server.
3.
Click the Advanced button if you want to add additional IP addresses or gateways to
the interface.
To configure multicast boundaries, follow these steps:
1.
Select the Multicast Boundaries tab.
2.
Select the scope that you want to configure from the drop-down list, and click the Add
button to enable it.
3.
Check the Time-To-Live (TTL) check box if you want to disable the forwarding of IP
multicast traffic out of the interface if it has a TTL less than a desired value. Also specify
the TTL value and the rate limit, in KB/s.

In order to complete step 2 (scope selection), you must have already created the scope. See
Recipe 5-5, “Configuring Global IP Routing Parameters,” to create a multicast scope.
To configure a multicast heartbeat, follow these steps:
1.
Select the Multicast Heartbeat tab.
2.
Check the Multicast Heartbeat Detection check box if you want to listen for periodic
multicast traffic.
3.
Enter the IP address of the multicast heartbeat group in the text field.
4.
Enter a desired quiet time, in minutes, before you want to generate an alert.
5.
Click the OK button when complete. Close and restart the RRAS management console
in order to view the changes.
