In-Depth Information
Figure 2-7. The Find pop-up menu appears when you hold down the mouse button on the Find icon
instead of clicking it. The menu gives you an easy way to manage finds that you have to perform re-
peatedly. Although you can't see the name of the field (or fields) you've searched in the Recent
Finds section of the menu, each item gives you as much data as it can, but you have to rely on your
memory for the field(s) the search refers to. If it's all too confusing, or your list is out-of-date, the
Clear All Recent Finds command lets you start from scratch.
Saving Finds
When you perform a find, FileMaker remembers the criteria you set. To get started, search
for all Zip codes that start with either “10” or “89” (see Multiple Requests for help creating
an OR condition search). Then follow these steps:
1. In the Status toolbar, click the Find icon, and keep the mouse button pressed .
A pop-up menu appears, with the Find you just performed at the top of the menu's
Recent Finds section.
2. Choose Save Current Find .
The Specify Options for the Saved Find dialog box appears. FileMaker suggests a
name for your saved find.
3. In the Name field, type Target Zip Codes .
