In-Depth Information
see if any new records match since the last time you did the find, all you have to do is choose
Records→Modify Last Find. FileMaker does the equivalent of entering Find mode and typ-
ing in your find criteria. You can edit the criteria if you want, or just click Perform Find, and
you're done.
Modify Last Find (Ctrl+R or -R) isn't just a speedy way to recreate a find, though. You
may have a found set of records, but you can't remember the search criteria. Choose Modify
Last Find and you'll be looking at them. Then you can click the Cancel Find and you're right
back in your found set.
Using the Find Pop-Up Menu
Once you've figured out how to create the complex find to get that end-of-month report
showing, say, all females in a 10-Zip code range who've emailed you, but who haven't made
a purchase in the last quarter, you can use the Find pop-up menu ( Figure 2-7 ) to recreate that
find if you need it again. If you've done the find recently (within your last 10 finds), then it
appears in this menu. Plus, you see another way to access the Modify Last Find command.
Best of all, Save Current Find lets you save as many frequently used finds as you need.
