The assistant asks you when the backup should run ( Figure 19-16 ).
Figure 19-15. This step in the Schedule Assistant lets you choose where to store the backup,
how many copies FileMaker Server should keep, and whether or not the backup file should
be verified. By “verified,” FileMaker means it checks the structure of the database file to be
sure it has a clean bill of health. Cloning the backup file saves a record-less copy of each
file it just backed up. Clones come in very handy if you find yourself piecing together a cor-
rupt database.
8. From the Frequency pop-up menu, choose Weekly .
The rest of the window changes to match Figure 19-16 , but you may have to scroll
down to see the additional area. The Start Date and Start Time show the current date
and time. You can set a Start Date and End Date to have the backup run only during a
selected time frame. To set a recurring schedule, it is only necessary to have a Start
Date.
9. Turn on the Friday checkbox under “Select the days of the week you would like
the schedule to run.”
You've now told the assistant you want this backup to run only on Friday.
10. In the Repeat Settings section, change the Start Time to 11:00 PM .
This setting tells FileMaker Server to back up the file at 11:00 p.m. That way, the
backup is finished in time for the offsite backup script at midnight. (For most data-
