In-Depth Information
Figure 19-14. The Schedule Assistant lets you schedule assorted FileMaker Server tasks.
You can automate regular backups, schedule scripts to run directly on the server, or tell
FileMaker Server to check the health of your database periodically. Use Send Message to
make announcements to your databases' users, like when you're taking files down for soft-
ware updates or other scheduled downtimes.
NOTE
If you need to back up a specific collection of databases, you can put them into a folder in
your database folder on the server computer. If that isn't an option (maybe they're already in
different folders for other schedules), then you need to make a schedule for each one.
4. Leave All Databases turned on and then click Next .
The screen changes to show still more options ( Figure 19-15 ).
5. In the Backup folder, enter the full path to the folder on your server where you
want the backup stored .
In this hypothetical example, you might have your offsite backup system configured
to copy every file from a certain folder every Friday at midnight, so you would send
the backup to that folder.
6. In the “Maximum number of backups to keep” box, enter 1 .
You want to keep only one weekly copy of the database in this example, since the
files will be copied by your offsite backup system.
