wowed critics for its spectacular warehouse-style dining room as much as it's dishes roasted
on an open fire. Highlights include babi guling (Rp250,000), wood-fired octopus
(Rp110,000), the home-made bread and the frozen margaritas. Daily 6pm-midnight.

and dinners, taking in Indonesian food, posh burgers, salads like rocket, pumpkin, pear
and feta (Rp45,000) plus a great deal more, mean there's something for everyone. Dining
in the old Joglo provides a wonderful atmosphere, too. Reservations recommended. Daily

Café Bali Jl Laksmana 0361 736484; map . Always popular in “Eat Street”, both for
the lovely dining room - the distressed furniture, pretty lampshades and lace tablecloths
have more charm than the decor in its cooler neighbours - and a long, eclectic menu
including quesadillas and sushi rolls, pasta and grills, Indian curry and mahi-mahi carpaccio

quiche (Rp32,000) plus pastries, cakes, sandwiches, salads, tapas and more in a modern
little French patiserrie. The a/c can be a life-saver while shopping - as can the coffee. Daily

organic, including nasi campur -style platters and the likes of quinoa coconut curry
(Rp52,000), burgers and delicious smoothies and juices in a buzzy little vegetarian café.

bourne, this pricey but excellent bistro/deli offers great coffee, gourmet salads, sandwiches
and pizzas (around Rp70,000) plus larger pastas and mains like lemongrass skewered prawns
or snapper fillet (Rp70,000-90,000). Daily 7am-10pm.
La Lucciola On beach beside Pura Petitenget car park, off Jl Petitenget 0361 730838;
map . Saffron risotto with seafood and chilli or duck salad with apple, watercress and toasted
hazlenuts (mains Rp80,000-155,000) typify the high-end Mediterranean flavours in this open
beach restaurant; a popular spot for sunset cocktails as much as romantic dinners (reserva-
