bumpiness, opacity, and reflection. The geometry used in video games is enhanced
with texture maps. You can use almost any image file, such as one you might cre-
ate in a paint program, as a map.
In Figure 2.23, the model on the left uses the default shaders, whereas the one on
the right has the textures turned on.

Now let's try a simple texturing technique. Right-click on the word Perspective in
the upper-left window and choose Smooth + Highlights. Your box should now look
shaded, as in Figure 2.24.
