In-Depth Information
When first imported, the WONK Logo Build.psd file dictated the size of its
Comp as set by its overall canvas size. But this Comp's size is incompatible with
most digital video or film aspects. You can change the Comp's dimensions and
proportionally maintain each layer's size using two methods: Parenting to a Null
or using the Comp as a Precomp in another Comp.
Parenting to a Null - If you wanted to continue working in the original imported
Photoshop Comp, add a Null to the Comp then Parent all the other layers to the
Null. You can then scale all layers simultaneously by scaling the Null only.
9
Add a Null (Ctrl
Alt
Shift
Y) to the WONK Comp.
10
Select all other layers of the Comp, then use the Parent column's Pick
Whip to attach all the layers to the Null.
11
Resize (Ctrl
K) the Comp to 640
360 (uncheck the Lock Aspect
Ratio . . . box).
12
Open the Scale (S) property for the Null, then set a new size of 75%.
13
Open all the other layers' Scale properties, then delete the Null.
Notice that all the layers first showed 100% size until the Null was deleted.
That's because when any layer is attached to a Parent, all the layer's properties
maintain their initial values until they lose the link to the Parent. Once that link
is broken, all the Parent's transform values are applied, cascading to the child's
properties.
