In-Depth Information
Returning to the GridBall project and the new replacement Precomp, use the
Pen Tool (that was used in Keyframe Interpolation) to create a flexible free-form
Mask to isolate the glasses of the new layer:
1
Set layer 1 Opacity (T) to 50%.
2
Fiddle with the top image and align their
eyeballs (you'll need to scale and reposition
CAS.psd ).
3
Reset the Opacity (T) to 100%.
4
Rename layer 1 (Enter) as BugEyeBalls .
5
Select the Pen Tool (G) and activate the
RotoBezier check-box.
6
Draw a loose Spline Mask around the glasses until
you reach the First Vertex, then close the path.
7
Press 'F' to open the Mask Feather property and
set it to 16.
After a RotoBezier Mask is created, it can be converted to a standard Bezier
Spline Path with all its vertices individually adjustable. Right-clicking on any
vertex point will open a menu showing options available to every vertex and
Mask Path. Uncheck the RotoBezier option and the path reverts to a normal
Spline Path.
After the RotoBezier Mask is
completed, you'll probably need to
adjust the vertices to make them
flow more evenly around the
glasses, and at some points the
vertices need to have sharp
transitions. You can alter the
Tension of each vertex by selecting
the Convert Vertex Tool (press 'G'
several times to sequentially select
the various Pen Tools). Clicking on
