precision of units
A command to refresh the drawing area or
a particular viewport , thereby ridding it of
any graphic distortions that show up on the
monitor while you're drawing.
The degree of accuracy in which linear and
angular units are displayed in dialog boxes,
at the command line , or in dimensions.

A three-dimensional surface that maintains
relationships with other objects allowing it to
be modified as a group. See also 3D surface .
A process in which the geometry for the
objects in the current drawing file is
recalculated.
prompt
registration points
The text at the command line that asks ques-
tions or tells you what action is necessary to
continue the execution of a command. The
Command: prompt tells you that no command
is currently running.
In traditional board drafting, marks used to
align transparent sheets with the base draw-
ing below.
regular window
purge
A selection tool that selects an area defined
by two points acting as opposite corners of
a rectangle. All objects completely within
the rectangle are selected. See also crossing
window .
The practice of removing unwanted and
unused objects from a drawing, usually by
using the Purge dialog box.
publish
relative coordinates
The procedure and command used to plot
more than one drawing or drawing layout at
a time.
Values for locating a point in space that
describe its displacement from the last point
picked in the drawing rather than from the
origin .

rendering
The practice of calculating the surfaces,
lights, materials, and environment used to
create an image file. The command to do so
is called RENDER .
raster image
A digitized image consisting of a grid of
square pixels that are stored as a sequence
of vertical and horizontal lines. These pixels
