Messages applies the picture to your account.
TIP
Can I take a photo of myself instead of using an existing picture?
Yes, assuming your monitor has a built-in camera or you have connected an external cam-
era to your Mac Pro. This is a useful technique to know if none of your existing photos are
right for your Messages picture, and if you do not like any of Messages' default pictures.
First, turn on the camera and, if necessary, change the camera mode so that it displays a
live feed. Click
Messages
and then click
Change My Picture
to open the Edit Picture
screen. Click the
Camera
tab to see the live feed from the camera. When you are ready,
click the
Take a picture
icon ( ). Messages counts down from three and snaps the pic-
ture. Click
Done
.
