Redefine A Named Color
This button on the Color
Editor creates a local copy of a named color chosen in
the top drop-down list. This new color copy name will
be preceded by the layer a filled object is on. You can
then change a local color on a layer without changing
the colors of named objects on a different layer. Just
make certain that a named color fill is within an object
on the layer you intend it to be on.
Rename A Color
N
The button to the right of Redefine
A Named Color on the Color Editor is useful for
removing the ambiguity of several redefined colors all
with similar names. You can also rename a named color
by clicking the Name button on the Color Gallery.
If you recolor a child color in a shape, you break the dynamic link between the fill and its parent
named color.
